Ferry Unardi, this young man was born on January 16, 1988 in the city of Padang, West Sumatra. After graduating from high school, he then continued his education abroad, precisely in the Department of Science and Engineering at Purdue University, located in the Indiana region, United States.
After graduating from college in 2008, Ferry was then hired to work at a company owned by Microsoft in the Seattle area.
For 3 years he worked there and had a lot of experience. Shortly thereafter he continued his education in the master's program at Harvard University.
Ferry Unardi is the Co-Founder and CEO of Traveloka, the region’s leading ight and hotel booking website. Ferry completed his tertiary studies at Purdue University, majoring in Computer Science and Engineering. The Padang native then went on to work at Microsoft as a software engineer for three years before deciding to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School.
It was during his first semester that the inspiration for Traveloka first took root. Having difficulty finding tickets to and from the US and Indonesia, Ferry sought out ways to solve this problem. Despite his concerns about the start-up industry, Ferry took a leap of faith and returned to Indonesia to develop his vision. Founded in 2012, the website quickly rose to prominence with users from all across Southeast Asia. Five years on, the website now registers traffic of more than 7.5 million users monthly, and has received hundreds of millions of rupiah in funding.
