Do you think social media is good for teens?

Social media is a platform that is accessible for everyone, especially for teenagers. They can communicate through social media such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and many more. Now, social media has become the favorite platform to access because it is very accessible. There are some impacts of social media for the user, both positive and negative impacts.

The positive impacts from being socially connected is very important for the psychological development of teens, and in this day and age, the online environment is where they get a lot of this. By connecting with others through social media, teens could learn about new cultural and societal ideas and issues, develop better social skills by interacting with friends and feel less isolated, learn about world events and current affairs outside of their environment, and they can also have fun!

Contrarily, social media if used wrong can be a tool to spread hate that can lead to cyberbullying. Other than that, teens are prone to be exposed to an inappropriate contents such as sexual images, violent contents, and provocative photos. Teens who are not aware of their own gadgets and social media accounts can experience data breaches, which is very dangerous considering how the data that they own are sold to strangers online.

Last but not least, social media is a great tool for teens if used right. They can use social media as a platform to expand their knowledge and their way of thinking, they are also able to see and understand opinions from other people online. Even though there are quite a few disadvantages from it. I believe that the usefulness that it has and the convenience that it offers exceeds the negative effects. We all should consider using it with cautiousness.

RECOMMENDATION LETTER

Dear Headmaster, It is my pleasure to strongly recommend Dewi Kirana Khairunnisa for accepting a medical scholarship from Medical School Yonsei University. I'm Dyandra Arcyane Zahra Gunawan, a classmate and teammate of Dewi Kirana Khairunnisa. I have 2 years of experience discussing and studying as a team and have seen many characters come and go. Dewi Kirana Khairunnisa is one individual I have discussed with who uniquely stands out. During our time together, Dewi Kirana Khairunnisa displayed great talents in Biology, Anatomy, and Chemist. When we first met, I was immediately impressed with Dewi Kirana Khairunnisa and the medical knowledge she had on the day we met, but during the time discussed and studied together, her understanding of medical grew far more than that of her peers. My first experience with Dewi's adaptability came not along after she joined the Medical Olympiad. Last year, we had a time that we should improve our knowledge about medical life. At that time, ...

ANIMAL

KANGAROO The word kangaroo derives from 'Gangurru', the name given to Eastern Grey Kangaroos by the Guuga Yimithirr people of Far North Queensland. Kangaroos are of cultural and spiritual significance to Aboriginal people across Australia. Plus, their meat was, and continues to be, a staple protein source; pelts were used for clothing and rugs; and their skin crafted into water bags. Kangaroos are the world’s largest marsupials. A Red Kangaroo can weigh  90kg  and can grow two metres tall. Black Wallaroos, at around 20 kg, are the smallest species of the group (their name a portmanteau of wallaby and kangaroo). All kangaroos have short hair, powerful hind legs, small forelimbs, big feet and a long tail. They have excellent hearing and keen eyesight. Depending on the species, their fur coat can be red, grey or light to dark brown. Eastern Grey Kangaroos at Yourka Reserve, Qld. Photo Wayne Lawler/EcoPix.
